The Behavioral Health Services Department is designed to assist adults with a range of mental health and substance use disorders. These services are provided in an out-patient clinic environment and are aimed at preventing more intensive care. The Behavioral Health Department also oversees services that target community members living with HIV/AIDS.
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic
This outpatient behavioral health clinic provides HIPAA compliant psychiatric, therapeutic counseling and medication adherence services to adults who suffer from mental health disorders. The clinic is member of the CT Latino Behavioral Health System (LBHS). LBHS is a network of providers targeting the unmet behavioral health needs of monolingual Latinx community in the Greater New Haven and surrounding areas.
Staffing includes a Connecticut licensed psychiatrist, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and Master Social Worker (MSW). Staff members specialize in addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, and other environmentally driven psychiatric concerns. Modalities include individual, family, couples, and group therapies. All services are culturally and linguistically appropriate.

The STD clinic offers free and confidential testing, and education on prevention strategies to under-served, under-insured and uninsured individuals.
The clinic goals:
- Reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted infections among minorities and disenfranchised populations.
- Make available STD testing services to persons with economic or other access problems to secure accurate and reliable testing results.
- Connect patients with appropriate medical care services.
- Provide high quality and person-centered care.
Located at the 175 Main street location, 1st floor. This is a HIPAA compliant, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waivered lab which only tests for Hepatitis C and HIV. The clinic is overseen by a nurse and works closely with the Hartford Health Department for the processing of specimens. Specimens are drawn by appointment only.
