Hartford, CT (August 2021) — Hispanic Health Council is proud to announce and welcome Dr. Christine C. Caruso as the organization’s co-chief research officer for the research and advocacy departments. Christine completed her doctoral studies in psychology at the City University of New York with a focus on environmental and social sciences and specialization in urban food studies. She also holds a master’s degree in public health in community health, program planning, and evaluation, as well as a master’s degree in clinical psychology.

Her areas of expertise include health equity and social determinants of health, participatory process and civic engagement, food systems and sustainability, community-engaged research, and evaluation. She currently serves on multiple working boards and community committees.
